Limited Term Assistant Professor in Land Based Planning

Located in downtown Toronto, the School of Urban and Regional Planning in the Faculty of Community Services at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) invites applications for a Limited Term Faculty (LTF) position at the rank of Assistant Professor in areas of Land Based Planning. The appointment shall be effective July 1, 2026 for a one year term, subject to final budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will engage in teaching and service duties, maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment. Contribute to undergraduate (BURPl) and graduate (MPl) programs through teaching core required courses in Planning Processes, Planning Theories, and Land-based Planning Studios, plus mentoring and supervising students.
Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Planning or related field by appointment date (ABD close to completion may be considered). Evidence of teaching excellence (teaching dossier required), commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and ability to contribute to School service.
Emphasis on inclusive land-based approaches to planning for reconciliation, sustainable and equitable communities. Encourages applications from equity-deserving groups.
Salary: Minimum $103,916.30 per annum, commensurate with qualifications.
