"Locksmith Tech I"

Position Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Locksmith Tech I for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Under the supervision of the Locksmith Supervisor, will install, repair and maintain commercial security access equipment. Inputs data in access control software for installation and troubleshooting purposes.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Operates IBM, AIX Systems and peripheral hardware.
• Input data into the access control software that activates the programming.
• Installs security access equipment.
• Repairs and maintains security access equipment.
• Provides training and guidance and assistance to end users or operators of the system.
• Performs mechanical locksmith duties when and/or if necessary.
• Understands and adheres to Rutgers' compliance standards as they appear in RBHS's Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
• Keeps abreast of pertinent federal, state and Rutgers regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience

Minimum of two (2) years' experience in access control, installation, and maintenance required.

Special Conditions

Must pass a police background investigation. Clean Driving Record.
