Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

Join Te Raupapa | Waikato Management School in a key role supporting Māori tauira success and engagement. This position works across strategy and delivery to help create a learning environment where Māori tauira feel connected, supported and able to succeed throughout their university journey.

You will work closely with divisional leaders, the Associate Dean Māori, the Management Student Centre and the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Māori to develop and deliver initiatives that strengthen Māori recruitment, retention and achievement. Grounded in whakawhanaungatanga, manaakitanga, whakawhitiwhakaaro and teina–tuakana, the role also contributes to building cultural capability across the Division and supporting meaningful engagement, events and mentoring initiatives.

The salary is in the range of $85,279 to $97,532 per year, based on skills, knowledge, and experience. This is a full-time fixed-term position (37.5 hours per week) based at our Hamilton Campus.

Are you a values-driven professional who is passionate about Māori tauira success and thriving in a tertiary environment? We are looking for someone like you to join our collaborative and purpose-led team.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience working with Māori tauira, communities or organisations
  • Fluency in Conversational te reo Māori and strong knowledge of tikanga Māori
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
  • Strong organisation skills, with experience managing events, budgets, data or reporting
  • Confidence working across teams and supporting tauira from diverse backgrounds

You will bring a thoughtful, practical approach to your work and enjoy building trusted relationships with tauira, colleagues and whānau. A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience is required, with experience in tauira support or a university environment an advantage.
