Maintenance I
Plans layouts, installs, and repairs machinery, fixtures and overall facilities by performing the necessary duties as assigned.
- Accepts, completes and remains accountable for written orders from Work Order Management System.
- Achieves and maintains proficiency and general aptitude in craft areas as assigned. (ie: painting, door and lock assemblies, carpentry, plumbing etc.).
- Provides innovative solutions where necessary to complete directives and work orders as assigned.
- Maintains proficiency and abilities to operate equipment and service vehicles including plows, salt spreaders, fork/lift trucks, booms and other equipment related to maintenance of construction, maintenance, grounds and snow removal as assigned.
- Uses advanced equipment and maintains advanced proficiency on system and equip operations to perform assigned work efficiently. Immediately reports and provides suggested course(s) of action on malfunctions, the need for upgrades, improvements and process / procedural issues to supervisor.
- Regularly seeks out and provides written requests for professional development and continuation of certifications and licenses. Regularly requests permission to attend work related seminars and training.
- Handles simple and intermediate duties and assignments given/issued and provides efficient and effective remedies or solutions to related work-place challenges and tasks.
- Assists other work teams and Departments with moving, relocating and repairs of furniture and facilities.
- Responsible for intermediate level maintenance and repair work in College buildings at all locations as assigned.
- Safeguards equipment and remains accountable to prevent theft and/or deterioration when not in use.
- Assists fellow employees in completing work-related duties as assigned.

Required:
- HSD/GED
- 1 - 3 years experience
- Knowledge and experience in grounds, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and other trades
- Valid Class I drivers license
Preferred:
- Vo-Tech Training, Trade School or Associates Degree
- OSHA Certification
