Job Overview

Under general supervision from higher-level supervisor, perform semi-skilled and skilled maintenance work; supervises subordinates in maintenance repair work.

Essential Functions

• Perform semi-skilled and skilled carpentry repairs; repair doors, locks, cabinets, chairs, desks, floors, walls and windows.
• Perform semi-skilled and skilled repair or various pieces of electrical equipment, such as appliances, outlets, wiring and electrical components of heating and cooling systems.
• Perform semi-skilled and skilled repair of pipes, toilets, steam traps, water lines, sewer lines and other pieces of plumbing equipment.
• Perform semi-skilled and skilled repair using various welding techniques.
• Supervise subordinates in duties associated with maintenance repair; assign duties, schedule workloads and instruct subordinates in the correct procedures to follow.
• Continuously inspect buildings and equipment, of any needed repairs and replacements and performing preventive maintenance.
• Operate machine tools in order to fabricate metals and make repairs on building and equipment parts.
• Make minor repairs and adjustments to pneumatic control systems.
• Maintain housekeeping conditions as prescribed by area.
• Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Minimum Requirements

High school/GED; 2 years experience in general maintenance; Some positions may require a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

• May be exposed to weather; may lift heavy items.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Shift: Varies

Starting Pay Rate: $27.88 per hour

Post Probationary Rate: $27.88 per hour
