  • Remuneration: $120,443 to $131,749 pa (HEW7) (inclusive of $101,775 to $111,330 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Management Accountant (2 Positions Available: Ongoing & 1 Year Fixed-Term) to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Business and Law.

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Management Accountant to provide expert financial management advice and services that support the Faculty’s business and service delivery objectives. In this role, you will take charge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while offering strategic guidance to leadership teams to ensure informed and effective financial decision-making. As a key team member, you will address complex financial challenges, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and play an integral role in building financial capabilities. Your expertise will contribute directly to shaping the Faculty’s financial strategy and supporting its long-term success.

The Faculty Operations team at the Faculty of Business and Law plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our faculty. Comprising the Faculty Finance, Space and Logistics, and Business Operations teams, we work collaboratively to support strategic and operational needs. Within Faculty Finance, a dedicated group of three Management Accountants, guided by the Faculty Finance Manager, ensures sound financial planning and decision-making. What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training, and/or relevant experience equivalent to completing a degree in a related discipline with applicable work experience are required. Working toward or holding professional membership with The Australian Society of CPAs, Institute of Chartered Accountants, or an equivalent organization. 
  2. Financial management skills in developing, reviewing and analysing large budgets using a range of corporate financial systems and demonstrated experience in applying financial governance principles. 
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide accurate advice on financial and other data in a clear and concise manner to a variety of stakeholders. 
  4. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to gather and integrate information from several sources to enable accurate and strategic decision making.
  5. Demonstrated ability to contribute to high performance culture that is committed to continuous improvement and innovation of processes and services. 
  6. High-level written and verbal communication skills with the ability to quickly establish rapport and manage collaborative working relationships, engage with a diverse client group and work effectively in a high performing team. 
  7. Advanced digital literacy skills and high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products (including databases) and financial packages such as Oracle, with the ability to develop reports.
