The Manager, Audio Visual Services leads the delivery, maintenance, and continuous improvement of audio-visual services across the University’s campus. This includes teaching and learning spaces, meeting rooms, digital signage, and CCTV systems. The role ensures AV solutions are reliable, scalable, and aligned with the needs of staff, educators, and students, supporting high-quality teaching, learning, and operational outcomes.
Providing leadership to the AV team, this position oversees day-to-day service delivery while strengthening team capability and managing resources effectively.
A key aspect of the role is building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to provide expert advice, coordinate implementation, and ensure the successful commissioning of AV solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage campus‑wide audio‑visual services, ensuring reliable, scalable solutions that support teaching, learning, and operations.
- Manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of AV technologies, from design and commissioning through to support and refresh.
- Embed service management and governance practices, including standards, documentation, and vendor performance oversight.
- Partner with stakeholders and vendors to provide expert advice and deliver successful AV outcomes across projects and operations.
This position reports to the Head, Customer Technology Services and has four direct reports.
About the person
You will bring a strategic approach to leading audio-visual services, with the ability to develop and implement AV strategies, standards, architecture, and programming approaches aligned with broader IT and institutional priorities.
With a strong understanding of contemporary AV technologies and trends, you will ensure solutions are future-focused, scalable, and responsive to the evolving needs of a university environment. You are comfortable working across a diverse stakeholder group and are motivated by delivering meaningful service improvements and outcomes.
Ideally, you will have:
- Proven experience in overseeing audio and system design for both new builds and refurbishment projects
- A minimum of 3 years’ leading an AV team or similar technical team in complex environments
- A focus on delivering high-quality, user-centred outcomes
- A strong grasp of governance processes, including configuration and commissioning
- A commitment to innovation and continuous improvement
- The ability to identify opportunities to enhance services and introduce modern AV experiences across campus
- A collaborative approach, underpinned by strong technical expertise

Salary details
The salary for the position commences at $112,811.36 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
