(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
The Manager of Benefits and ADA Administration is an operational leader responsible for oversight of the institution's campus implementation and optimization of employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with organizational goals. Lead and mentor the Benefits team to ensure appropriate interaction with vendors and University System of Georgia resources as well as proper facilitation of enrollment processes, issue resolution, and adherence to policies and procedures. Serve as a subject matter expert in benefits operations, FMLA and ADA administration, providing guidance to HR team members and support to employees on leaves, accommodations and benefit-related matters.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for analyzing and directing all functional-related activities within the area of employee benefits, providing prioritization of time and resources
- Build and mentor a strong functional team of benefits practitioners through effective recruiting, training, coaching, and team building, mentoring the Benefits staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement and service excellence
- Oversee the workplace accommodation process ensuring compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, As Amended (2008) and establishing best practices for eligibility, determining reasonableness, and facilitating the interactive process
- Oversee FMLA leave of absence function, establishing best practices and developing consistent and effective processes
- Coordinate with the HR Business Partner team to align leave and ADA compliance with Employee Relations issues
- Act as the case advisor on complex ADA and LOA situations
- Collaborate with Payroll, Legal, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of related benefits processes
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior HR leadership
- Responsible for ensuring tracking and other processes and procedures on benefit plans and leave of absence are documented and updated
- Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and regulations governing benefits and related systems
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
Five (5) years of progressive HR experience with at least three (3) years benefits operations, preferably in higher education or a complex organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or other relevant certification
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Preferred Experience
Experience leading a team
Experience data-drive decision making
Experience with leave and ADA administration
Proposed Salary

KNOWLEDGE
Experience with benefit plan administration
General knowledge of industry specific practices and federal regulations
Knowledge of University System of GA benefit plans a plus

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
Strong aptitude for balancing a need to be self-directed and take responsibility to move projects forward with discernment for seeking guidance on HR regulatory requirements and task complexities
