  • Full time, continuing position - 36.25 hours per week
  • Located at either the Cairns Nguma-bada or the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus.
  • HEWL 8: $111,960 - $128,567 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

With extensive experience managing large-scale audio-visual and digital space environments, ideally within higher education or complex enterprise settings, along with strong leadership capability demonstrated through building, developing, and leading high-performing technical teams. You will have expertise in AV technologies, videoconferencing platforms, and digital infrastructure, with a sound understanding of scalable, secure, and standards-based solutions.

You will also bring proven project management skills, with the ability to deliver end-to-end initiatives on time, within budget, and to quality standards, as well as a demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement through automation, standardisation, and service optimisation.

In addition, you will possess strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, enabling you to collaborate across diverse groups and influence outcomes, complemented by experience managing vendors, contracts, and service providers to ensure delivery aligns with organisational expectations and standards.

Your excellent problem-solving, organisational, and decision-making skills will enable you to effectively manage competing priorities and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Deliver high-quality, consistent, and reliable digital space and AV services that enhance teaching, learning, and collaboration across the University.
  • Lead the design, engineering, and lifecycle management of digital spaces, ensuring future-ready and user-focused technology environments.
  • Strengthen operational performance through effective tiered support models, resolving complex technical issues and ensuring service continuity.
  • Drive strategic initiatives by contributing to planning, cybersecurity alignment, and the advancement of TSD objectives.
  • Build and sustain a high-performing, engaged team culture that values innovation, collaboration, and service excellence.
  • Improve efficiency and user experience through the implementation of standardised processes, automation, and service enhancements.
  • Develop strong partnerships with stakeholders to align digital space capabilities with University needs and priorities.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of AV assets, ensuring effective planning, procurement, deployment, and optimisation in line with budget and technology roadmaps.
