As the Manager of Global Engagement and Partnerships in the Faculty of Science, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our global strategy. This is a unique opportunity to foster high-impact international partnerships, enhance the Faculty’s global visibility and drive meaningful collaboration across diverse stakeholders. Working closely with senior stakeholders, including the Director, Strategy, Planning and Resources and Associate Dean (Global Engagement), your work will help translate international opportunities into lasting and impactful partnerships that align with the University’s Advancing Melbourne strategy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading strategic partnership development: Identify, assess, and grow global partnerships that advance the Faculty’s research, education, and engagement priorities.
  • Coordinate international activities: Manage international delegations, events, and agreements, ensuring alignment with University policies and compliance frameworks.
  • Advise Internal Stakeholders: Act as a trusted advisor on international initiatives, working closely with internal and external partners to coordinate and align engagement activities.
  • Support continuous improvement: Support the development of policies, track global trends and help embed a culture of innovation across the Faculty’s international engagement portfolio.
  • Mentor and supervise the International Engagement Coordinator, supporting capability development and performance.

You may be a great fit if: You are a pro-active, independent, highly operational, culturally a professional with extensive experience in international engagement and partnership development, possessing strong technical abilities in compliance work and cross-functional collaboration.

You may also have: A postgraduate qualification in international engagement, global strategy, or higher education management. Demonstrated success managing international partnerships in complex institutional environments. Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills. Strong project management and strategic planning capabilities. Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive data informed approach. Familiarity with the Australian higher education sector and international education policy trends.

Your new team – Science Secretariat: The Strategy Planning and Resources team sits in the Faculty of Science Secretariat, and leads the Faculty’s strategy, projects, student planning and the international portfolio. The Faculty Secretariat is the administrative unit within the Faculty of Science and is central to the Faculty’s teaching, research and commercial activities. The Secretariat is responsible for the policy development, planning, implementation and ongoing management of Faculty programs.
