Manager, PMO Analysis and Reporting - Portfolio Management (Fixed-Term for 1 year)

New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD seeks to appoint a Manager, PMO Analysis and Reporting reporting to Senior Director, Portfolio Management.
The Manager, PMO Analysis & Reporting is responsible for developing and maintaining the analytical, governance, and reporting capabilities of the Portfolio Management Office (PfMO) within the Office of the COO.
The role ensures that project, program, and portfolio performance is measured consistently across all COO departments and supports data-driven decision-making through high-quality analysis, insights, and tools.
The position also co-owns the PfMO’s management platform (currently Monday.com), oversees the evolution of project delivery methodologies, and leads initiatives that strengthen the institution’s project management capability and maturity.
The Manager acts as a central point for PMO data integrity, performance monitoring, and process improvement, ensuring transparency, consistency, and alignment between portfolio performance and institutional objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting & Analytics
- Design and maintain portfolio-level dashboards and performance reports for the COO and departmental leadership
- Define and track KPIs and performance indicators for schedule, scope, risk, and delivery health
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and insightfulness of data used in management reporting
- Provide analytical input to quarterly and annual reviews.
PMO Governance & Methodology
- Develop, maintain, and enhance project and program management methodologies, standards, templates, and toolkits
- Support onboarding and compliance across projects to ensure consistent application of PfMO practices
- Contribute to the PfMO maturity roadmap to advance delivery standards across the COO portfolios
Portfolio Oversight & Assurance
- Conduct project and portfolio health checks, quality reviews, and stage-gate audits
- Support benefits tracking and performance assessments
- Facilitate lessons-learned reviews and provide recommendations to improve governance and execution
Systems & Tools (Co-Ownership)
- Administer the PfMO’s management platform, including data structures, configuration, access controls, and reporting automation
- Serve as co-owner with vendors for technical governance, maintenance, and system improvements
- Lead initiatives to streamline workflows through digitization and automation
PMO Capability Development & Continuous Improvement
- Lead initiatives to strengthen project and portfolio management capability across the COO portfolios
- Maintain a central knowledge base of templates, guidance, and best practices for the PfMO community
- Facilitate lessons-learned reviews, PM community sessions, and process improvement initiatives
- Partner with the Assistant Director of Culture & Change to ensure PMO practices reinforce organizational culture and change objectives without duplicating responsibilities
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or related field
Preferred Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field
Required Experience:
- Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, CAPM, or equivalent
- PMO or Portfolio certifications (e.g., PfMP, P3O, PMO-CP) desirable
- Agile, Lean, or ITIL knowledge is advantageous
- 5+ years of experience in project, program, or PMO environments, preferably within complex or matrixed organization
- Strong analytical and data visualization skills, with proficiency in related platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
- Experience managing or administering project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com, Smartsheet, Asana)
- Sound understanding of project governance frameworks, lifecycle methodologies, and performance measurement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical data into clear insights for senior stakeholders
- High attention to detail and data accuracy, with strong organizational and documentation abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functions and levels of the organization
Preferred Experience:
- 1+ years of experience in a university or similarly complex organization is preferred
- Expertise in program and portfolio-level data analysis to ensure comprehensive monitoring and evaluation of performance
- Demonstrated leadership and influence in a complex organizational environment
