Manager, Researcher Support and Development
- Full time, fixed term until 2 February 2028 (parental leave cover)
- Support and operational management of faculty research and development
- HEO 9 Base Salary $146,197- $154,260 + 17% superannuation

The Business School are currently seeking a Manager, Researcher Support and Development to oversee the delivery of initiatives that increase the research capacity of the Faculty and the capability of researchers to undertake research projects and build strong and sustainable programs of research in strategic areas.
This role provides operational management of the Faculty-funded internal research schemes and all research services and initiatives that support and recognise quality research conducted across the Faculty.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- support the strategic direction of the research support and development work undertaken by the work area
- provides strategic advice and support to the development and implementation of the ongoing research strategy of the work unit
- provide leadership to and people management of research support staff in Research Services
- provide operational management of the Faculty's internal funding schemes and research support initiatives
- provides management and oversight of the Faculty's external research funding strategy and operations
- manages the Business School's Researcher Development Program
- communicate research information, events and achievements within the Business School and provide strategic advice for profiling Business School research externally.
About you
- previous experience working in the higher education sector, or at a complex, multi-faceted organisation
- experience project managing multiple work streams or working in large complex projects and ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands
- experience managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on large or complex projects
- excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with sound negotiating and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of matters
- ability to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of normal daily work
- planning analysis and communication skills together with the ability to work according to strict deadlines and manage various demands
- experience in controlling income/expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking and managing invoice payments and purchases for projects
- excellent administrative skills, coupled with a general understanding of the project life cycle, project documentation, project standards and methodologies.
