The Opportunity

Are you a strategic team leader with experience in medical education? We are hiring a Manager, Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) & Educational Design to join TMU’s School of Medicine! Reporting to the Senior Director, Clinical Education this role leads, manages, and administers the UGME and Educational Design portfolio, overseeing program planning, curriculum design and delivery, quality assurance, continuous improvement and ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and institutional priorities. The Manager also oversees program operations, staffing, budgeting, and performance metrics to support learner success and program sustainability.

In collaboration with the Senior Director, Clinical Education; Associate Dean, UGME; and the Director, Quality and Standards, the Manager ensures compliance with all accreditation standards, elements and processes of the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) and TMU Institutional Quality Assurance Process (IQAP) requirements.

This role leads the strategic design and continuous improvement of medical education curricula, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards, institutional priorities, and emerging best practices. The Manager collaborates closely with educational developers, instructional designers, and clinical faculty to integrate innovative, evidence-informed teaching methods and competency-based, learner-centered approaches.

This role serves as a key liaison with TMU administrative and academic units, clinical partners, and faculty leaders to support continuous program enhancement and innovation in teaching and learning.

Qualifications

To help us learn more about you, please provide a cover letter and resume describing how you meet the following required qualifications:

  • Completion of a Master’s degree in higher education or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of five years (5) of progressive leadership experience in academic program planning and administration within a post-secondary environment, including responsibility for major projects or initiatives.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a medical or health professional education environment.
  • Equivalent experience or a combination of equivalent experience and education may be accepted in place of education.
  • Experience working with and building relationships with multi-sectoral stakeholders.
  • Superior conceptual, analytical, and problem solving skills to assess complex academic and operational issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality reports and deliver clear, persuasive presentations to diverse audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles and educational theory, including emerging trends in curriculum design and delivery at local, national, and international levels.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic program planning and implementation, and evaluation within an academic environment.
  • A proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and decision-making skills to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, strategic and an innovative thinker.
  • Demonstrates agility and effectiveness when working in a collaborative, dynamic team environment.
