Reporting to the Dean of the College of Health Professions and Human Services or their managerial designee, and in collaboration with the Chairperson of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, the Managing Assistant Director 2 is responsible for the operation of the Center for Communication Disorders, a community based resource of speech, language, hearing and communication assessment and treatment services for individuals across the lifespan, with communication disorders. The Managing Assistant Director ensures that academic training satisfactorily prepares students for clinical applications and ensures that clinical instructors are keenly aware of this preparation so they can set appropriate expectations for the clinical performance of our graduate students.

The Managing Assistant Director ensures that standards for clinical training, as specified by our accrediting agency, the Council of Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), are met. The Managing Assistant Director participates in annual reporting and self-study documentation required by CAA and ASHA; oversees the coordination of all activities related to the Center, working closely with faculty supervisors, administrators and graduate assistants; and ensures the Center and its daily operations follow federal and state laws and regulations, as well as university policies and procedures.

This employee is required to teach in-load courses, which will be assigned through the Department Chairperson and Dean. Teaching responsibilities include up to twelve (12) credit hours distributed over a twelve (12) month period, from September 1st to August 31st. This may include fall, winter, spring and/or summer teaching assignments. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college with a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field; must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA); licensure in the State of New Jersey as a Speech-Language Pathologist; and a minimum of two years of clinical experience is required. Five years of clinical experience and two years of teaching and/or administrative experience in the field is preferred. A doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for two years of the required experience. Candidate must have excellent customer service skills and strong written and oral communication skills.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the annual salary range for this position is: $100,000 to $110,000.
