Job Description Summary

THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE AFTER SIX MONTHS IS POSSIBLE - (1 day per week).
Posting Summary
Provide technical support and research assistance of an advanced and often independent nature; provide administrative support to principal investigator in grant administration.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform both applied and basic research of an advanced and independent nature under the overall direction of principal investigator.
- Design research protocols (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures), perform independent laboratory and field measurements and analyses.
- Develop analytical procedures, computer programs and other techniques for laboratory and fieldwork.
- Develop research proposals, technical reports and professional articles.
- Instruct and supervise graduate students and others in the use of laboratory equipment and in research processes and techniques.
- Perform budget and administrative responsibilities for specific projects and/or programs.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: May represent the PI at meetings and conferences as appropriate. Perform additional duties as required.
Licenses, Tools and Equipment
Valid driver's license. Personal computers, printers; word processing, database, spreadsheet, remote-sensing and GIS software. Fieldwork sensors and tools (e.g., coring).
