Offer Description
The Universidad Carlos III de Madrid invites applications for a part-time research training position within the project DISCO6G-CM – Development and Integration of Sensors and Communications for Advanced 6G Services, funded by the Comunidad de Madrid.
The selected candidate will contribute to the design, electromagnetic modelling and simulation of antennas and radiating structures for sensing and wireless communication applications. The work will include parametric analysis and optimisation of antenna geometries in terms of impedance matching, bandwidth, efficiency, gain and radiation pattern.
The candidate will also contribute to the development of electromagnetic models for analysing the interaction of antennas and sensors with different materials and application scenarios, as well as to the generation and processing of data obtained from electromagnetic simulations.
Additional activities will include comparison and validation of results using different modelling and simulation tools, technical documentation of the developed designs and results, and collaboration with the research team in activities related to sensing and wireless systems.
The contract is expected to run from 3 November 2026 to 2 May 2027, with a workload of 15 hours per week.

Skills/Qualifications
The following merits will be positively assessed:
- University education in Telecommunications Engineering, Telecommunication Technologies or related fields.
- Knowledge of applied electromagnetics, radiofrequency, microwaves and antennas.
- Experience in electromagnetic design and simulation of antennas, including experience acquired through Bachelor's or Master's theses, internships, academic projects or professional activities.
- Experience with electromagnetic simulation and RF/microwave design tools.
- Knowledge of S-parameters, impedance matching, radiation patterns, antenna gain and efficiency.
- Knowledge of programming and data processing, particularly using MATLAB, Python or equivalent tools.
- Knowledge of numerical methods and computational modelling applied to electromagnetics.
- Ability to work in a team, prepare technical documentation and communicate technical results.
Specific Requirements
Applicants must hold a completed university degree equivalent to a Spanish university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) and must be currently enrolled in the Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering.
A background in Telecommunications Engineering, Telecommunication Technologies or a closely related field will be positively assessed.
