Master’s degree in the areas of Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy, Biological Science, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related areas.
Specific Requirements
Admission Requirements
- Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Biotechnology or related fields;
- Previous technical and scientific laboratory experience in biotechnology, particularly in plant production and plant health;
- Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese (mandatory);
- Good knowledge of English;
- Immediate availability.
Competences and Preferential Factors
- Experience in in vitro plant culture, molecular biology, particularly in woody plant species;
- Experience in data analysis, namely microbiome data processing and visualisation, and statistical analysis, using R software.
- Good oral and written communication, analytical and organisational skills;
- Proactivity, dynamism and team spirit;
- Driver's license and own vehicle;
- Residence in the Alentejo region and immediate availability will be a factor of total preference, under equal conditions.

Benefits
The hiring will be carried out through a contract of employment with an uncertain end date (Contrato a Termo Incerto), under private law, pursuant to Article 140(2)(h) of the Portuguese Labour Code and the applicable legislation in force since 1 October 2019. The gross monthly base salary will range from €1,499.15 to €1,762.31, corresponding to the 1st or 2nd pay position of the General Senior Technician Career (Carreira Geral de Técnico Superior), depending on the candidate’s professional experience and its relevance to the duties to be performed. The salary will be subject to any updates to the applicable Single Remuneration Table (TRU). The employee is also entitled to a meal allowance for each day of actual work, as well as holiday and Christmas allowances, in accordance with the applicable legislation. The payment will be made by bank transfer.
Selection process
Selection methods:
The first phase comprises the curriculum evaluation. The weight of the Curriculum evaluation factors are as follows:
- Academic Qualifications - 30%
- Professional experience – 30%
- Experience and profile adequacy regarding the workplan and the project – 40%
The jury may consider it necessary to conduct an individual interview with the highest-ranked candidates. In this case, the selection criteria and their respective weights are as follows:
- Academic Qualifications – 30%
- Experience and profile adequacy regarding the workplan and the project – 40%
- Good communication skills, the ability to express oneself clearly, and a strong motivation for teamwork- 20%
- Individual interview – 10%
In case that none of the candidates meets the required profile, the jury reserves the right to close the recruitment process without selecting a candidate.

- Academic degree certificate. Certificate degree duly recognized in Portugal (If the academic degrees were awarded by a foreign higher education institution, they must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16. Compliance with any formalities established therein must occur by the application deadline);
- Certificate or diploma of communicative competence in Portuguese from the Council of Europe's Common European Framework of Reference for Languages that proves proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese at the common reference level B1 or higher for candidates of foreign nationality, except those from Portuguese-speaking countries.
- Documents demonstrating relevant experience for the duties to be performed (up to a maximum of 3 documents, compiled into a single PDF file).

Announcement/ notification of the results:
The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
