The NOVA National School of Public Health, NOVA University Lisbon, has opened an offer position for 1 Research Fellowships(s), within the scope of the R&D project Academy for Patient Associations Capacity Building (ACAD), funded by Roche, under the following conditions:
Scientific area: Communication Sciences
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in the area of communication sciences;
- Experience in projects in the area of public health;
- Experience in projects with patient associations;
- Experience in communication management;
- Communication and written expression skills;
- Attend a course that confers an academic degree.
Preferential factors:
- Experience in planning and executing communication on digital channels;
- Experience in project management;
- Experience in analyzing communication metrics and project execution;
- Immediate availability;
- Ability to adapt to different tasks;
- Spirit of initiative and ability to work as a team;
- Organization and autonomy skills.
Work plan: The successful applicant will participate in the planning, execution and evaluation of the activities planned for the Academy for Capacity Building of Patients' Associations, namely: planning and organizing events; planning and pedagogic content production for the different training initiatives of the project; planning and implementation of ACAD's strategic communication, in its different channels; creating communication content; management of communication with patient associations and other partners; monitoring ACAD activities. He/she will also support project management.
Applicable Legislation and Regulations: Statute of Scientific Research Fellow, approved by Law nr. 40/2004, of August 18, amended and published by Decree-Law nr. 202/2012, of August 27, amended by Decree-Law nr. 233/2012, of October 29, by Law nr. 12/2013, of January 29, by Decree-Law nr. 89/2013 of July 9 and by Decree-Law nr. 123/2019, of August 28 and the rules established in the Research Fellow Regulations of NOVA University Lisbon.
Workplace and scientific supervision: The work will be carried out at NOVA National School of Public Health, NOVA University Lisbon, under the scientific supervision of Professor Ana Rita Goes.
Duration of the Research Fellowship(s): the duration of the research fellowship(s) will be for 12 months, starting in September of 2026. The research fellowship(s) can be renewed up to the maximum provided for in the Research Fellowship Regulations of NOVA University Lisbon.
Monthly maintenance allowance: The amount of the fellowship is 1359,64€ (may have a higher value, according to the technical and scientific skills demonstrated), according to the values for research fellowships awarded by NOVA in Portugal. In addition to this amount, there is the payment of personal accident insurance and the payment of voluntary social security.
Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: Curriculum evaluation (100%) in case there is no need for an interview. If an interview is considered necessary, both components will be weighted: Curriculum evaluation (70%) and interview (30%).

The documents required for the submission of the application will only be admitted if submitted within the deadline of application.
The following documents will be requested in the contracting phase:
- Copy of civil and tax identification document(s) and, where applicable, social security document(s);
- Document proving the country of residence, residence permit or other legally equivalent document, where applicable, valid at the start date of the fellowship;
- Documents proving that the candidate meets the conditions required for the respective type of fellowship, namely proof of enrollment and registration in a cycle of studies or non-degree course and/or proof of academic qualifications required for the type of fellowship, if applicable.
