Summary of Position
The Mathematics Faculty is a full-time, 9-month/166-day position. The faculty member is responsible for teaching 30 credit hours annually (generally 15 credits each fall and spring semester ). Courses may be taught using both traditional and non-traditional delivery (e.g. hybrid, online, or accelerated); some weekend/evening, hybrid, and/or online teaching may be required. Other responsibilities include developing and evaluating curriculum; advising and retention activities; assessing student and program objectives; student learning assessment duties; serving on college committees; selecting texts; and attending departmental, State Math Discipline, and College meetings and functions. Faculty may need to teach at any RRCC campus and at a variety of times (days, evenings, and some weekends).
The faculty member develops and evaluates curricula, ensures program alignment with community needs and regulatory requirements, participates in assessment activities, documents curriculum changes based on assessments, implements retention strategies, and integrates technology into coursework. Additional responsibilities involve maintaining office hours, assisting with departmental duties, providing academic advising to students, participating in college events, serving on committees, and representing the college in the community. Professional development is a key component of the role, with opportunities for growth to support both teaching and service functions aligned with the college's goals.

Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mathematics or related field from an academic institution accredited by an agency that is recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) with 18 graduate credit hours in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics courses, and successful completion of all undergraduate courses in the calculus sequence through multivariable calculus (equivalent to MAT 2410, MAT 2420, and either MAT 2430 or MAT 2431). No more than 6 of the 18 graduate credits may be in Statistics. The 18 graduate courses will be reviewed to determine whether each course includes substantial mathematical content aligned with college-level mathematics.
- Tested experience may be used in lieu of the degree requirement on a case-by-case basis.
- Experience teaching and/or training various subjects within the discipline.
- Actively seek opportunities for professional growth by embracing challenges, learning from feedback, engaging in professional development, and applying new strategies to improve your practice.
- Experience teaching at least two of the following courses in a college setting: Introduction to Statistics, Calculus III (multivariable calculus), Linear Algebra, or Differential Equations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching Introduction to Statistics, the Calculus series, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations.
- Experience developing and teaching online courses.
- Experience/interest in incorporating the use of programming (such as Python) as a tool in math and data science courses.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment of student learning.
- Thirty (30) or more semester credit hours teaching experience at the college level.
- Experience teaching at a community college.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and skills.
- Actively seek opportunities for professional growth by engaging in professional development and applying new strategies to improve your practice.
Physical & Cognitive Demands
The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position.
- Occasionally moves, positions, and transports classroom and lab equipment, up to 10 lbs.
- This is largely a sedentary role. This position operates in an office environment and constantly uses a computer, and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc.
- The person in this position constantly communicates with internal and external constituents and students. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.

Advertised Salary Range The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $78,000, commensurate with education and experience. This salary is based on 166 contract days. The projected start date for this position is August 1, 2026. This is a full-time, 9-month, FLSA exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System. Faculty may have the option to teach additional course overloads in accordance with college policies and procedures for additional compensation.
