Mathematics Faculty
Job Summary
Arapahoe Community College (ACC) seeks to hire two qualified faculty members to teach in our mathematics department. The college has undertaken exciting new programs under the leadership of the Colorado Space Institute, and the selected mathematics faculty will be invited to be part of preparing students for Colorado's dynamic space industry. Mathematics faculty will work with their department chair, dean, the Space Institute, and industry to help us grow degrees and programs in data science, statistics, space sciences, artificial intelligence, quantum, engineering, and more.
The Mathematics Faculty position is a full-time, 9-month faculty position in the Mathematics Department. ACC Faculty teach 15 credits each fall and spring semester. Faculty may have the option to teach courses during the summer semester for additional compensation. Courses may be taught using both traditional and non-traditional delivery methods, including face-to-face, online, computer-aided, distance learning, self-paced, and interdisciplinary. Faculty may need to teach at any ACC campus and at a variety of times (days, evenings, and some weekends).

Qualifications
- Master's degree in mathematics, or applied mathematics, OR master's degree plus 18 graduate credit hours in math
- Experience teaching and/or training various subjects within the discipline.
- Demonstrated commitment working with and supporting students from diverse populations, which may include but are not limited to, historically marginalized communities such as people of color, LGBTQ+ community members, veterans, first generation graduates, and people with disabilities.
- Demonstrate a growth mindset regarding professional development.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a form that is appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in facilitating equitable outcomes for customers, key stakeholders, or students using effective inclusive strategies.
- Demonstrate building successful professional relationships and working collaboratively with internal and external constituents and outside agencies.
- Participate and/or lead in professional organizations, committees and/or taskforces.
- Experience with remote and/or online teaching/training and experience developing courses for multiple delivery formats.
- Ability to develop well-defined assessment/evaluation objectives and high-performance standards aligned with expectations.
- Three years of full-time experience teaching mathematics at the post-secondary level.
- Experience and /or wiliness to teach and support math learning across the entire curriculum including developmental mathematics, co-requisite courses, statistics and STEM through Differential Equations.
- Familiarity with current trends in mathematics education, including the use of iPads as instructional tools.
- Experience integrating technology into courses.
- Understanding of adult learning theory concepts; ability to utilize these principles effectively in the learning environment.

Salary Information
The projected start date for this position is August 2026. The salary range for this position is $61,940 to $77,239, commensurate with education and experience. This salary is based on 166 contract days within an academic year (August to May). Salary will be pro-rated based on actual contract days worked. This is a full-time, 9-month, FLSA-exempt position. This position has been exempted from the State Classified System. AP 3-55 provides information regarding salary placement and adjustments.
