The Division of Science at NYU Abu Dhabi is searching for accomplished faculty to conduct research and teach the next generation of global thinkers.

You are invited to apply for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position in Mathematics. Available openings are at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks. As part of a major multi-year growth plan and to support the launch of a Master’s program in Interdisciplinary Data Science and AI, the Mathematics Program at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications in the mathematical foundations of data science and artificial intelligence.

We are particularly interested in candidates whose research develops or advances the rigorous mathematical underpinnings of modern data science and AI. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Probability and statistics for data Science and AI
• Optimization, algorithms, and computational mathematics
• Information theory and learning theory
• Other foundational areas at the interface of mathematics and data science

Successful candidates are expected to pursue research at NYUAD and teach in the Master’s program in Interdisciplinary Data Science and AI as well as in the Mathematics Program at NYUAD.

This position requires a Ph.D. in Mathematics or other related fields.

We seek applicants who have, or have the potential to develop, a strong record of scholarship and have the ability to conduct and develop high-quality research.

Shortlisted candidates are expected to be invited for campus visits in Abu Dhabi and New York in Spring 2026. We anticipate that successful candidates can start the appointment and relocate to Abu Dhabi in the academic year 2026-2027, subject to final budget approval.
