This fellowship is designed for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about college athletics and interested in pursuing a career in fundraising and development. The selected candidate will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while contributing to the Pirate Clubs mission of supporting ECU student-athletes.
The fellow will play a key role in donor engagement efforts, assisting in the cultivation and stewardship of current members while helping identify and develop new donor prospects. Through this experience, the fellow will build a strong foundation in annual giving, donor communications, event operations, and strategic fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in donor engagement and communication efforts, including phone outreach, email campaigns, and stewardship initiatives.
- Support the execution of Pirate Club events, including hospitality functions and game day operations
- Contribute to Impact Fund initiatives and membership growth strategies
- Work closely with Assistant Director of Development on Student Pirate Club strategy and initiatives
- Identify and research prospective donors to expand the Pirate Clubs membership base
- Assist with data management, reporting, and donor tracking within CRM systems
- Collaborate with athletics staff on special projects and departmental initiatives
- Gain exposure to major gift strategy and donor cultivation
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Interest in collegiate athletics, fundraising, or sports administration
