"Mechanic/Groundsworker"

Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Mechanic/Groundsworker for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O). Under general supervision, maintains and repairs grounds equipment and performs general grounds maintenance.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Maintains an inventory of parts and supplies for equipment repair.
• Operates and maintains repair shop and equipment storage area.
• Instructs personnel in the proper use and maintenance of grounds equipment.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• A valid driver's license and two years driving experience, plus successful completion of the Rutgers Defensive Driving Course is also required.
• May require Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with air brake endorsement within 90 days of employment.

Special Conditions:

• Shift hours/Schedule: Monday- Friday 6:30am-3:00pm
• Clean Driving Record
