We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on Mechatronics Engineering Faculty Member to lead instruction in areas like robotics, PLCs, automation, systems troubleshooting, hydraulics, and pneumatics—and to do it all with an eye toward real-world application. What You’ll Do:
- Teach high-impact courses in Mechatronics Engineering and support other engineering programs across Henderson and Transylvania County campuses
- Guide students through real-world projects in automation, robotics, controls, and systems maintenance
- Innovate instruction across curriculum, continuing education, workforce training, and flexible formats (day, evening, hybrid, online)
- Mentor adjuncts, collaborate on curriculum improvements, and pioneer high school and university pathway programs
- Partner with local industry to align curriculum with employer needs—and keep our grads job-ready
- Maintain safe, organized labs where students can get hands-on with the tech they’ll use in the field
Who You Are:
- A born problem-solver with deep industry knowledge in automation, robotics, and systems engineering
- A tech-savvy educator or trainer with a talent for translating complex engineering into student success
- A forward-thinker who thrives on collaboration—with students, faculty, and industry partners alike
- Excited to teach and mentor both in-person and virtually with modern LMS tools and instructional technology
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or related field)
- Industry experience in automation, robotics, PLCs, or related technical areas
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in an engineering field with 18+ graduate hours in engineering
- Prior college teaching or training experience
Bonus Points For:
- Certifications from Allen-Bradley, ABB Robotics, or in hydraulic/pneumatic systems
- Experience advising students and working with dual-enrollment or high school pathways
- A collaborative spirit and a passion for workforce development in the community
