Corning Community College is currently seeking a skilled Mechatronics Technology Faculty to join our team in the Fall 2026 Semester. Tenure track faculty members in the area of Mechatronics Technology within the STEM Division are expected to teach Mechatronics courses starting with Basic Electricity, Digital and Analog circuits, Industrial Electronics, Data Acquisition, PLC’s, Motor Control, and Sensors and Actuators. Faculty must be able to use, setup, and program where appropriate instrumentation and test equipment used in the lab courses. Faculty are expected to be able to operate, program, troubleshoot such equipment. Faculty are responsible for teaching a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and updating course materials, grading assignments and assessments, and holding office hours for each course taught to support student learning. Faculty are also expected to advise students on academic progress and career goals.

Courses may be offered in-person, asynchronous online, or synchronous online, depending on departmental needs. Tenure-track faculty are expected to organize, maintain, and revise course content as needed to ensure instructional effectiveness and alignment with departmental and institutional standards.

Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required; travel to conferences and/or recruiting events may be required. Travel to local (within 60 miles) high schools may be required. Ability to adequately see, hear, and have the manual dexterity to perform and monitor classroom lectures, demonstrations and perform other teaching duties. Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs, ability to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Typical classroom, office, laboratory/lab space and indoor building environments, occasional outdoor activity may be required. A signing bonus may be offered for high-demand fields. The signing bonus is a stipend and not added to base salary.

****Essential Functions****

Teaching Duties (60%) -

• Maintain current course content and up-to-date teaching methods
• At the start of the semester, provide students with a course outline and requirements for fulfilling the objectives of the course. This should include information about grading policies, class attendance policy, research projects and/or term paper requirements, and the nature of quizzes and examinations
• Be responsible for assuring accuracy of course content as defined in the catalogue
• Meet classes as scheduled and dismiss each class promptly
• Teach at off-campus locations, if need arises
• Facilitate curriculum development
• Develop community outreach activities
• Utilize Excel and Access and other relevant computer and software programs/skills to develop computer data base/system for program assessment, data collection, evaluation and potential accreditation
• Engage in professional development activities offered through the Center for Teaching and Learning and other external opportunities
• Collaborate with Workforce Development and other Academic Departments regarding non-credit and other professional training certifications and education

Advising Duties (20%) -

• Post and maintain regular and reasonable office hours
• Refer students to appropriate college services for specialized assistance
• Write recommendations for students who need references for work or for transfer to another college
• Serve as an advisor to a student organization
• Coordinate and participate in advisement and recruitment for new and current students

Committee Services (15%) -

• Attend graduation exercises, unless formally excused by the Associate Dean of Instruction and the Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs
• Become involved in, and contribute to, the improvement of the College and its community through such services as sponsorship of forums, seminars, workshops and conferences
• Participate in all College-wide workshops and fall and spring start-up programs unless excused by the Associate Dean of Instruction or VP/Dean of Academic Affairs.
• Participate in governance committees as assigned

Other duties as assigned (5%) -

• Complete other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean of Instruction of the STEM Division or VPAA

****Minimum Qualifications****

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or related field applicable to the job posting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in related field. Required for promotion consideration
• 3-5 years of industrial experience in discipline
• Knowledge of residential and commercial electrical wiring
• Teaching experience at a Community College
• A strong technology proficiency, experience with Banner, Brightspace (Content Management Systems), and textbook applications
