Responsibilities:
- Room patients and perform standard patient intake including vitals
- Assist with minor clinical office procedures
- Performs standard medical laboratory/Point of Care (POC) testing.
- Administer medications/immunizations, injections as directed
- Respond to general patient inquiries regarding treatment and clinic policies and procedures.
- Coordinate patient care with outside health agencies.
- May complete general administrative duties as assigned including; Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Disability and Return to Work forms, Electronic Medical Record in-basket messages, etc.
- Complete other clinical and non-clinical duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR current enrollment in, or completion of coursework in a healthcare professional program (e.g., medical school, PA program, nursing program, or related clinical training) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience (1 - 3 years).
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care, and basic medical terminology.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or (RMA).
- Experience working within a large complex health care setting.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records system.
