Medical Assistant - ENT, YMA
Overview
Provide superior clinical and administrative support to patients and clinicians in a fast-paced outpatient clinic. Under limited supervision and exercising initiative, assist with the coordination of outpatient clinical activities of the team.
Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hrs., 8:00AM - 4:30PM. Early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays may be required in rotation. Recess period required.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated proficiency with medical assisting standards and principles. Proven ability with operational processes in a medical setting (i.e. clinical data collection, phlebotomy, and education).
- Ability to perform in a multi-specialty physician practice.
- Ability to generate trusting and supportive relationships with patients, families, staff and faculty.
- Proficiency with medical terminology.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
Principal Responsibilities
- Maintains comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment.
- Prepares patients for examinations. Provides routine information related to medical treatments and procedures.
- Measures and records vital signs. Collects specimens. Prepares examining rooms. Selects and lays out medical supplies.
- Maintains medical equipment. Records and reports patient information. Retrieves laboratory test results and patient files.
- Escorts patients and visitors. Orders and maintains inventory of supplies.
- Performs clerical functions related to medical activities.
Required Education and Experience
Two years of related work experience and a high school level education; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Required License(s) or Certification(s)
Certification by the American Association of Medical Assistants or American Registry of Medical Assistants (or ability to get certification/registration within 90 days of employment).
Hourly Range
$27.74
