Medical Oncology Tenure Track PhD Faculty Position
Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty members tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.
Position Overview
- Develop and lead an independent, externally funded research program in tobacco research. Publish impactful research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the OSUCCC James, including basic scientists, clinicians, and translational researchers.
- Contribute to graduate and medical education through teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development.
- 10%- Participate in departmental and institutional service, including committee work and strategic initiatives.

Education and Experience Requirements
PhD or MD/PhD required; Considerable post-doctoral experience in basic research required; considerable experience in oncology required; proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals preferred; understanding of key components of grant writing and obtaining funding in support of research required; experience with administration of funded research required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen
