Join a dedicated team of behavioral health professionals as a Mental Health Clinician with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Managed Care at the James Allred Correctional Unit, located in Wichita Falls, Texas. In this role, you'll provide individual counseling, mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and case management services to a diverse patient population with a wide range of diagnoses. Working closely with fellow clinicians, psychiatric providers, medical staff, and security personnel, you'll play a key role in promoting stability, rehabilitation, and long-term wellness. Major/Essential Functions
- Assess and identify inmates with severe mental illness and behavioral health needs.
- Conduct clinical interviews, evaluations, and risk assessments to support treatment planning and inmate safety.
- Implement risk management procedures to address threats of self-harm, suicide, or harm to others.
- Coordinate referrals to medical, mental health, crisis management, and behavioral health services.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation and caseload records.
- Collaborate with security staff regarding inmate protection concerns and safety-related issues.
- Support suicide prevention initiatives and other unit-specific behavioral health programs.
- Manage caseload responsibilities, prioritize duties effectively, and meet established productivity standards.
- Perform additional behavioral health and administrative duties as needed to support unit operations and inmate care.
