"Mental Health Specialist II Part Time"

Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey has opening for a Mental Health Specialist II Part Time for the Clinical Research and Occupational Medicine Division within the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute, located in Piscataway, NJ. As a member of the Social Work Department, performs a variety of patient support services in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures.

Duties include:

• Under supervision, provides administrative and staff support to the Social Work department at the World Trade Center Health Program- EOHSI. Assists in maintenance of essential records.
• Conducts benefit assessments and advises patients of internal resources to assist with their needs. Responds with sensitivity to cultural and socio-economic impacting patients. Identifies and assists patients navigate social service systems external to the WTC Health program in an empathetic, concerned and therapeutic manner.
• Assists with outreach to and onboarding of external mental health providers.
• Coordinates patient care with referrals for WTC mental health diagnoses, disability application assistance and benefit information. Involved in activities to improve patient experience. Documents interactions with patients in EPIC in a timely fashion.
• Works in collaboration with other staff/outside agencies to improve mental and physical health of patient population.
• Coordinates social service/case management needs with other WTCHP team members.
