Position Summary:

The University of Dayton, a top-tier Catholic research institution, seeks an exceptional Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic team in the School of Education and Health Sciences. The Mental Health Therapist will provide individual, group, family, and crisis counseling to the student's in the schools served. The Therapist will be responsible to teach a Social and Emotional program to all the classes in the assigned school. Assisting principals and education staff in the best ways to handle challenging behavior.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Counseling or Social Work, with licensure in the state of Ohio - LPC or LSW
  • Minimum of 3 years mental health treatment experience with school age children
  • Experience working in diverse cultures
  • Valid driver's license with low risk driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

  • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or Licensed Independent Social Worker
  • Mental health counseling experience in a K-12 school setting
  • Knowledge of Catholic schools and their culture
  • Demonstrated successful experience working independently and productively
  • Demonstrated successful experience working as part of a team
  • Successful demonstration of flexibility in day-to-day activities
  • Demonstrated successful experience building and sustaining relationship and partnerships with school staff and community.
