Methodologist (part-time) m/f

ICS MUNI (Institute of Computer Science) primarily provides the operation and development of the IT infrastructure of Masaryk University. In addition, it participates in the development of the National Data Infrastructure (NDI), a platform for sharing, managing, and accessing data and computing resources for research purposes.

In connection with the development of systems for managing the provenance of research data, we are looking for a new team member for the position of Methodologist.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating methodological frameworks that ensure the compliance of the software system with international standards (in particular ISO 23494, ISO 13888) and legal requirements.
  • Supporting the development team in documenting the system and ensuring compliance with standards and quality of results.
  • Cooperating with legal experts on the interpretation and implementation of legal and ethical requirements.
  • Translating formal standards into practical guidelines for developers.
  • Preparing documentation to serve as a basis for audits, quality control, and communication with users from various scientific domains.
  • Designing and updating methodologies for the development and operation of systems for working with research data.
  • Collaborating with developers, lawyers, and domain experts (sensitive data, open science, healthcare).
  • Coordinating the preparation of outputs suitable for reviews, audits, and evaluations.
  • Monitoring developments in the field of open science, FAIR principles, and EOSC policies.

We are looking for a colleague who:

  • Holds a university degree in computer science, management, law, or another related field connected to quality assurance and compliance with international standards.
  • Has the willingness to become familiar with international standards and frameworks (e.g., ISO, FAIR, GDPR, AI Act, EOSC).
  • Has experience with creating and revising methodologies, guidelines, or process manuals, and can simplify and make complex requirements more accessible.
  • Has experience with audits or internal controls (an advantage).
  • Places emphasis on systematic work, quality, and detail.
  • Is a team player with strong communication skills.
  • Czech language is an advantage.

What you can look forward to:

  • Working in a friendly team on projects that aim to significantly influence the research environment in the Czech Republic and abroad.
  • Part-time position: 0.25 FTE.
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility of working from home.
  • Salary: CZK 14,000 – 18,000 depending on relevant experience.
  • Up to 6 weeks of vacation depending on the extent of the part-time workload.
