SUMMARY
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a professional position responsible for providing healthcare services to students through University Health Services under the supervision of a physician. Responsible for conducting complete physicals and providing treatment, and counseling patients. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Director of Health Services Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Nurse Practitioner:
Master’s degree from an accredited nurse practitioner program is required.
No direct experience is required. Knowledge of nursing techniques, principles, and procedures is required. Knowledge of methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment is required. License by the Texas Board of Nursing to practice as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) is required. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required. Experience in gynecology is preferred. Candidates without a current Texas license will be considered if license can be obtained prior to start date.
Physician Assistant:
Bachelor’s degree is required. Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program is required.

License by the Texas Physician Assistant Board under the Texas Medical Board to practice as a physician assistant is required. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
