Job Details
Truly independent private practice is harder and harder to find. Midtown Urology is a two-physician, three-midlevel group in central Austin looking to add a third physician who wants to help continue building something unique.
We're a high-volume, outpatient-focused practice: office- and ASC-based urology, with an emphasis on lifestyle and quality-of-life conditions. It's a deliberately focused model, and we believe that's what helps us excel. Physicians in our practice are also eligible to apply for affiliate faculty appointments at the University of Texas at Austin.
What makes us different
BPH is where our model really shines. We offer essentially every BPH procedure on the market - both in office and in the OR - and serve as one of the highest-volume clinical trial sites in the country for new BPH procedures and devices. That means high procedural volume plus early access to the tools and techniques most of the field is still waiting on. BPH is a signature strength, but it's far from all we do - we offer a broad range of non-BPH services and surgeries as well. The same ethos runs through all of it: we gravitate toward procedures that are lower-acuity, high-success, low-complication, and, wherever possible, done right in the office.
Just as important is how the place feels day to day. We recently completed a full renovation that doubled our office space, specifically to make room for a third physician - but what really sets Midtown apart is the culture. It's a family in the best sense: non-hierarchical and collegial, a place where everyone's voice counts and people genuinely enjoy coming to work. And then there's Austin itself - one of the most dynamic and livable cities in the country.
The ideal candidate
- Drawn to a focused, outpatient career - office- and ASC-based procedural urology, done at high volume
- Genuinely interested in procedural urology, with a real pull toward BPH
- Excited by clinical research - eager to participate in trials, and ideally to help bring new ones in
- Collaborative by nature, and excited to be part of a close-knit team and help shape the practice
- Wants to be in (or come to) Texas for the long haul
- Approachable, grounded, and hard-working - the kind of colleague we'd all be glad to have
The opportunity
- A clear, defined path to partnership - a real ownership stake and a seat at the table, not just a paycheck
- Competitive base salary with production incentives
- High-volume outpatient procedural practice, with leading BPH trial and research participation
- CME allowance and relocation assistance
- Comprehensive health benefits and retirement plan
- Paid vacation and holidays
- Marketing and practice-growth support
- Future Lithotripter/Ureteroscopy and ASC partnership opportunities
We're flexible on timing and glad to speak with candidates at any career stage. If this sounds like the kind of place you'd want to be - or you know someone who might - we'd love to hear from you. All inquiries kept confidential; send a CV or a quick note to midtownurologyhr@gmail.com.
