Job Description:
Responsible and accountable for observation of all monitors in the central monitoring station, this includes 3 A-B-C-D, 4AB, 4CD, 5AB, 5CD, 6AB, 6CD; MICU, reporting any abnormalities, obtaining, routing, documenting, and accurately defining rhythm strips. Performs ECG tests on patients as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Qualifications/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Indicate minimum required to qualify or perform this job.)
Required Education/Experience/Licensing:
- HSD or equivalent with completion of formal cardiac rhythm identification training including EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or
- Completed one year of the associate degree program in cardiovascular technology or have a minimum of 1 year experience in performing EKGs with the ability to recognize arrhythmias and/ or Telemetry Monitoring experience.
- Successfully completes an arrhythmia test, with a 80% overall including 100% on the fatal arrhythmia section.
- Preferred experience with EKGs and arrythmia identification
- BLS Certification
- Must be willing to work flexible hours
- Physical requirements: visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable; ability to hear (with or without aides); ability to orally communicate; good manual dexterity; ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 30 pounds occasionally; ability to stand, walk frequently; ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently; and ability to perform CPR (if a required for position).
