About Us
Murdoch University’s School of Nursing was established in 2004 at our regional Mandurah campus and due to enrolment growth expanded to our Perth Campus in 2016. Today, we have over 1500 students across both campuses, primarily through our Bachelor of Nursing program. Our postgraduate programs are also expanding, with offerings in Health Care Management, a joint MBA, Gerontological Healthcare, Contemporary Issues in Mental Health Care, and Research Training and Higher Degrees by Research.
Our Nursing team is a highly motivated, innovative, and cohesive group of academics, renowned for delivering quality teaching and conducting impactful nursing research. This excellence is evidenced by 10 of our 22 academics having each won either or in combination, national, state, university and industry awards for teaching, research, and nursing excellence over the past four years. We have surpassed the national average in the Quality Indicators for Learning & Teaching (QILT) Surveys in areas such as teaching practices, resources, skills development and overall satisfaction. Additionally, we have been awarded 5 stars for Student Support in the Good Universities Guide.

The Role
We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Lecturer in Nursing to join our team at our South Street Campus or at our Mandurah campus. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in scholarly research and develop professional expertise that will have a lasting impact on the nursing profession.
Our ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with AHPRA Registration and possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You will engage in innovative and impactful scholarly research that advances the field of nursing and contributes to the body of knowledge in healthcare.
As the Lecturer in Nursing, you will develop and enhance your professional expertise, staying at the forefront of nursing practices and advancements. You will foster an inspiring learning environment that encourages students to excel in their academic and professional pursuits. Collaboration with colleagues to design and deliver high-quality educational programs that meet the evolving needs of the nursing profession is essential.
What you’ll bring to this role
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse.
- A master’s or enrolment in a masters, in an area relevant to appointment.
- Proven experience in nursing education, with positive feedback from student and colleague.
- A commitment to evidence-based teaching and demonstrated knowledge of contemporary approaches to curriculum and pedagogy related to nursing education.
- Readiness for contributing to discipline related scholarship, grant applications and peer reviewed publications, either independently or as part of a research team.
