"Natural Sciences and Mathematics Department, Physics - Adjunct"

Summary:

The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at D’Youville University is seeking qualified candidates to join our pool of adjunct instructors for potential teaching opportunities in physics lectures and labs. We are accepting applications for positions to be filled as needed. Our department offers a range of undergraduate degrees, including Biology B.S., Biology B.A., Biochemistry B.S., Chemistry B.S., and Chemistry B.A.

Responsibilities:

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with established learning outcomes.
• Develop and implement course assignments and learning activities that effectively measure student learning outcomes.
• Foster an inclusive and collaborative classroom environment.
• Provide regular progress updates and final grades for students.
• Maintain accessibility and timely communication with students through in-person office hours, videoconferencing, or telephone.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree or higher in Physics or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Previous experience teaching in higher education is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in utilizing various software programs, including the institution’s Learning Management System (Canvas), for online course delivery.
