NIL Partnership Sales Associate

Job Summary:

TCU Athletics is seeking a driven and hardworking professional to secure student-athlete partnerships and enhance brand visibility for local businesses. The ideal candidate will join a team focused on acquiring Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals that propel TCU Athletics forward in the evolving landscape of intercollegiate athletics. In this dynamic role, you will identify and establish impactful NIL partnerships with brands and local businesses, creating lucrative agreements that benefit our talented student-athletes. Your experience in marketing and brand management will be essential as you organize networking events and presentations to promote our NIL program and attract new partners. Additionally, you will develop compelling presentations that showcase our student-athletes—all while ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations and institutional policies. With a competitive base salary and commission structure for all secured NIL deals, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact for TCU Athletics.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

  1. Identifies and researches potential brand partners, including local businesses, regional brands, and DFW corporations interested in engaging with TCU student-athletes related to their NIL offerings.
  2. Develops and implements a comprehensive sales strategy to position TCU’s NIL offerings effectively, outlining clear goals for partnership acquisition.
  3. Conducts field canvassing and face-to-face meetings with compelling pitches to potential partnership in order to secure NIL partnerships, emphasizing what makes the university's athletes and market reach appealing.
  4. Leads NIL pitches and negotiations to secure sponsorship and endorsement deals for student-athletes.
  5. Acts as the primary point of contact for NIL partners to foster long-term relationships with brands to encourage repeat business and larger partnership deals from upselling opportunities.
  6. Tracks sales metrics, including the number of NIL partnerships secured, total NIL dollars generated, and individual athlete performance, to evaluate success and optimize efforts. Provides regular updates to university stakeholders on sales performance as well as insights for future partnership initiatives.
  7. Collaborates with Marketing, Creative, and Strategic Communications units to highlight partnerships, enhances visibility for the university and athletes, and maximize exposure for newly secured deals positively in media and events.
  8. Proactively approaches existing partnerships to identify opportunities that will generate more NIL dollars with new ideas to enhance the value of current agreements.
  9. Uses CRM tools to manage leads, track sales activities, and document interactions with brands to optimize the sales process and follow-ups.
  10. Utilizes industry databases, social media, and networking events to generate new leads and maintain a pipeline of prospective partners for NIL opportunities.
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in sales, business development, sponsorships, or relevant fields.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to use strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

  • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
  • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
  • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
  • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Work is indoor and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
  • There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
  • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
  • This role is an on campus, in-person position.
  • This role requires some travel for conducting meetings and prospecting in assigned territories.
