Position Summary
An essential member of the multidisciplinary clinic team, the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant provides comprehensive outpatient care to individuals diagnosed with cancer, from diagnosis through treatment during the acute phase of survivorship. This position is responsible for coordinating care and ensuring appropriate referrals to ancillary and supportive resources to address physical, psychosocial, and other identified needs.
Will see patients at two or three of our clinics located in North County, West County, South County, and our Center for Advanced Medicine location, located in downtown St. Louis.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluates survivors’ needs (physical, psychological, and social) using assessment tools such as distress screening to connect patients to referrals and support services, such as dietitians, social work, and physical therapy.
- Provides psychosocial support and facilitates referrals to psychology services as needed.
- Adheres to NCCN survivorship clinical guidelines and other evidence-based practices.
- Provides direct patient care to include obtaining patient history, performing patient assessment via observation, interview and examination; orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies; performs preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations and care; provides direct treatment and management of acute and chronic disease conditions; develops and implements patient-centered plan of care in collaboration with physicians, patients, consultants, nurses, ancillary care providers and others as appropriate to the patient's condition.
- Provides management services for clinical research study projects; monitors participating subjects, including medication administration and family/patient education.
- Works in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Regularly participates in constant quality improvement and process improvement activities centered on the goal of providing exceptional, evidence-based patient care.
- Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
- Contributes to the advancement of the rehabilitation nursing profession as a whole through research, publications, and presentations.
- Bills for professional services as permitted by the collaborative practice agreement.
- Interprets diagnostic tests results for deviations from normal.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Nurse Practitioner
* Master of Science in Nursing with emphasis in the Nurse Practitioner program.
* Advanced Practical Nurse licensure (or ability to successfully obtain licensure within three months of date of hire).
* Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty.
* Basic Life Support certification (Online Basic Life Support certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the Basic Life Support requirements).
Physician Assistant
* Graduate of PA program.
* Current PA licensure to practice in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, or ability to obtain within three months of date of hire.
* Certain/additional certifications may be necessary based on area of specialty.
* Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

$86,300.00 - $155,500.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
