One full-time staff position for Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is available in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. This position will provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations for all aspects of kidney disorders.
Essential Functions
- Rounding on patients on hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis or kidney transplant recipients.
- Attend one half day clinic session per week and/or rounding on chronic dialysis shift patients in the community settings.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
- Participate in research and development projects.
- Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioners and medical students.
- Manage in-patient and out-patient e-consult volumes
- Participation in the holiday coverage schedule is expected and will be coordinated equitably across the team
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
