Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
The Critical Care Nurse Supervisor will provide oversight to the Surgical ICU; responsible for coordinating the management functions related to the delivery of patient care, as well as the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care for the unit. Supervises staff and functions while maintaining clinical nursing practice skills and unit specific expertise. Specific duties include managing Human Resources functions; directing patient care activities; implementing work place changes; monitoring unit budgets; and participating on performance improvement projects. Serves as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, patients and others.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
- Unit specific nursing certification
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Minimum 3 years experience as a nurse
- Knowledge of Title 22 and Joint Commission Requirements
- Demonstrated nursing experience in the acute care critical care setting
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role
- Complete understanding of patient classification system & staffing requirements for the patient population
- Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Pediatric ICU experience
Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse
- Pediatric Advanced Life Supp
- Basic Life Support
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Education:
- Bachelor of Science, Nursing
