Nursing Clinical Placement Coordinator
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Nursing Clinical Placement Coordinator will manage the student's clinical placement process and contracts and affiliations with hospitals and other clinical sites for the nursing program. This position requires strong interpersonal skills and judgement to facilitate collaboration and communication among faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders. Position requires the ability to manage sensitive information, as necessary. The successful candidate will be a confident and professional administrator with excellent communication and IT skills that will contribute to the efficient day-to-day activities of the nursing program. This is a campus-based, full-time (37.5 hour a week) position requiring occasional evening and weekend hours.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Administrative coordination and maintenance of clinical placements for all nursing program options with contracted/affiliated clinical agencies for nursing students.
- Communicate with students, clinical faculty, and hospital representatives to obtain and clarify information and to update the database for student placements via various platforms.
- Ensure immunization records and other required pre-clinical clearance and credentialing documents for nursing students are in compliance.
- Communicate with the Student Immunization Office relative to student compliance.
- Conduct student hospital onboarding in conjunction with healthcare organization sites.
- Initiate and maintain ongoing contact with clinical agencies for preceptor, adjunct, and student placements.
- Assist students and faculty by communicating with outside clinical agencies (ex: hospitals, community clinics and health care provider's offices, etc.) to ensure that all facets of the clinical agency placement process are properly documented and communicated.
- Manage clinical placement lists and reports as required by the Director of Nursing Education and the Director of CNAH, faculty, and agencies.
- Serve as liaison to the healthcare community, in conjunction with the Director of Nursing Education, the Director of CNAH, and faculty representatives/faculty/students, explaining the role of the nursing student, evaluating appropriateness of clinical sites prior to student placement, and coordinating periodic campus meetings for clinical agency as needed.
- Collect and maintain preceptor and adjunct faculty qualification documentation/forms per MA Board of Nursing and ACEN.
- Verify all preceptor and adjunct faculty RN license numbers are active and unencumbered.
- Coordinate the collection of evaluations of clinical agencies by faculty/student/agency members.
- Assist the Director of Nursing Education, the Director of CNAH, and faculty, in matters related to student placement and participates in meetings to assist with problem-solving related to the clinical process, as needed/requested.
- Train in the CCP Platform.
- Maintain strong positive communication with all affiliate internship locations.
- Organize and facilitate orientation of students to their clinical and field locations. This shall include all required physical or digital documentation of immunizations, CORI/SORI, drug screens, certifications, etc., or communication with the liaisons at the affiliate locations.
- Create and maintain all aspects of clinical scheduling at affiliate locations based on site preferences or restrictions in collaboration with Nursing faculty.
- Attend and participate in advisory board meetings.
- College service, including committee work, and meetings, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Education, Education Administration, or other related field plus three (3) years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of Windows-based software and PC functions. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or equivalents.
- Innovative thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and planning skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and IT skills.
- Passionate about clinical excellence.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Clinical Placement Coordinator role experience preferred.
- Background in Nursing.
- Knowledge of BORN and ACEN regulations.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Full-time, MCCC Unit Position; Grade 5 - Senior Special Programs Coordinator with an anticipated annual salary range of $72,265-$82,472. Actual salary will be consistent with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Includes participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program including option for membership in the Massachusetts State Employees' Retirement System
