Hiring Range: $20.65- $21.63 an hour
What you will do:You will provide essential office support to the Finance Department, utilizing basic knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and departmental policies. You will also provide support to the Office of the President. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing clerical duties such as screening incoming calls, taking messages, distributing mail, making photocopies, and performing data entry. You will draft and type a variety of documents, including letters, memos, and contracts.
- Initiating, processing, and reviewing routine and confidential paperwork, forms, reports, and related records, ensuring completeness and accuracy. You will respond to requests for information, answer routine questions, and direct visitors.
- Preparing and/or entering a variety of information into applicable documents, spreadsheets, databases, invoices, and logs. This includes compiling and tabulating data, and tracking purchase orders
- Scheduling appointments and meetings, planning special events, processing requisitions, and ordering supplies.

- Position RequirementsWhat you will bringKnowledge of modern office procedures, methods, and equipment, as well as strong filing and recordkeeping principles.
- Proficiency in using a computer and related software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets, and the ability to maintain and use office equipment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public to successfully exchange information. You must also be skilled in providing customer service.
- The ability to prepare correspondence, maintain and use office equipment, and process information utilizing established procedures. You should also have familiarity with data collection and analysis techniques.
- Required Qualifications:A High School Diploma or GED.
- Two years of office support experience.
- A valid state Drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
- The ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Preferred Qualifications:An Associates Degree.
- The ability to speak and understand Oodham and/or Spanish.
- Knowledge and understanding of the history and contemporary issues facing Native people.
- Work Environment & ScheduleThe typical work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime may be required.
- The position is classified as Sedentary work, which involves sitting most of the time. Physical activities include fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, feeling, and repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. You must have close visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. The work is conducted indoors in a typical office environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Work Environment TOCC is a tribal college located on the Tohono O'odham Nation, 60 miles west of Tucson. The incumbent will work closely with members of the Tohono O'odham Nation within a multicultural setting.
