Job Description
Behind every successful student and faculty member is someone making sure the pieces come together. In this role, you'll be that connector - planning events, coordinating travel, and managing details that make a big difference in day-to-day life in the Statistics department. You'll be the go-to person for keeping things running smoothly and help faculty and students feels at home on campus.

- Bring people together through planning workshops, small events, and meetings (virtual and in-person)
- Be part of growth by assisting with faculty recruitment, from travel arrangements to interview schedules
- Support success from day one by helping new faculty transition smoothly into our community
- Work as a trusted partner to colleagues across campus, collaborating with a strong team of experienced staff
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Graduate Students with onboarding new students
- Track and maintain student records and data
- Update department website content in partnership with the Communications team
- Support faculty through the Promotion & Tenure process with clear documentation
- Coordinate travel arrangements including flights, hotels, cars, and conference registration
- Manage faculty review materials and maintain records with accuracy and confidentiality
- Schedule and organize meetings and events for alumni, faculty, and students
- Oversee equipment and space inventory
Shift
Generally, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. Typically 8 am to 5 pm. Occasional nights and weekends for events.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Experience with SLATE
- Someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, service-oriented environment
