Scope of Job:

We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's student body as a One Year Appointment- Clinical Assistant Professor of the School of Nursing beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. Duties may include teaching students in classrooms, simulated laboratories, and clinical settings as well as student advisement. Additional efforts in professional achievement and professional service are expected. Department/College BackgroundThe School of Nursing offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nursing. These degrees include a traditional BSN and 2nd degree BSN pre-licensure degree, an RN to BSN, along with graduate degrees in Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, Family Nurse Practitioner, a Post-graduate certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health NP and our new Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP) that started in Fall 2022. Our faculty teach on two campuses, in both Edinburg and in Brownsville. We have full simulation labs that offer state-of-the-art educational opportunities for all our students. We collaborate with the other health science programs at UTRGV on interdisciplinary clinical experiences and work with hospitals throughout the entire Rio Grande Valley. Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing degree. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas prior to beginning the position. At least 2 years of clinical experience.
