School of Natural Sciences and School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (Joint Appointment)

Taejae University in Seoul, South Korea, invites applications for a full-time, three-year renewable appointment as an Assistant or Associate Professor in natural sciences and data science. The role involves teaching undergraduate courses in mathematics, data science, and interdisciplinary natural science topics starting in Spring 2026. Responsibilities include developing and instructing courses such as general natural science, mathematical modeling, and interdisciplinary subjects, aligned with Taejae's active online learning philosophy and core competencies like self-directed learning and critical thinking.

The standard teaching load is three courses per semester, each with four credits. Additional duties may include mentoring students, participating in faculty workshops, and serving on committees. Faculty can teach from anywhere globally, with no residency requirement.

Basic Qualifications: Ph.D. in natural sciences, data sciences, or relevant discipline, or advancement to candidacy by application time.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in undergraduate instruction, active learning pedagogies, supervising student research, designing virtual labs, interdisciplinary research, and curricular design.

Salary Range: $65,000 to $85,000 annually, negotiable based on qualifications. Benefits include a $3,000 Professional Development Account Fund.
