The newly-established Center of Statistics at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) in Chengdu, China, aims to promote cutting-edge research in statistical methodology and applications in a wide range of disciplines, such as finance and health sciences. The center has an excellent group of 10 full-time faculty members, conducting education and research in a variety of disciplines, e.g. financial statistics, risk assessment, statistical portfolio management, medicine, public health and life science. The center has an overseas guest professor team consisting of leading statisticians in the US, who have been involved in curriculum development, teaching, student supervision, and research collaboration with local faculty. SWUFE, one of the leading Chinese Universities in statistics and finance, is committed to building a strong statistical center with core research and curriculum that follows that of the leading statistics/biostatistics departments in US. The center is undergoing a rapid growth and is to recruit 10 high quality open-rank tenure track faculty members within 5 years.

Position Title:

Open-Rank (Asst/Assoc/Full) Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Statistics.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Appointees will undertake undergraduate and graduate teaching, thesis supervision, statistical methodological research, and active collaborative research. They are expected to be mentored by and closely work with the overseas statistical professor team.

Applicants Qualifications:

Applicants should have a PhD degree in statistics, biostatistics or related disciplines. Preference will be given to those with excellent statistical methodological research, strong motivation in applications, and effective communication skills/teaching ability.
