Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
- An earned Doctorate in Construction Management, Civil
Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Must possess a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the
discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
- Experience and evidence appropriate to the desired rank.
- ABD will be considered if degree is conferred by August 7,
2027. If successful candidate is ABD, appointment will be made at a
Lecturer level on a fixed contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant professional experience in the United States
construction industry or comparable international experience.
- Professional registration, licensing or the ability to become
licensed, or certifications related to the construction
discipline.
- Expertise in construction management areas that complement
departmental strengths and the Southwest Florida environment.
- A rank-appropriate record of scholarly publication, externally
funded research, or professional development activities.
- Preferred areas of expertise include construction materials and
methods, preconstruction, project controls, infrastructure
management, resilient and sustainable construction, digital
construction, AI and analytics, automation, construction safety,
workforce development, and other emerging areas of construction
engineering and management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of major concepts, assumptions, debates, processes of
inquiry, and ways of knowing that are central to the
discipline(s).
- Understanding how to use digital and interactive technologies
for efficiently and effectively achieving specific learning
goals.
