Position Type: Faculty

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Construction, Architecture, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years professional experience in the construction industry, when employment begins.
  • Applicants should have a demonstrated background in and be prepared to teach in multiple subject areas, such as: Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing Systems, Surveying, Project Management, Planning & Scheduling, and/or Pre-construction.

Description:

The Haskell & Irene Lemon Construction Science (CNS) Division at the University of Oklahoma's (OU) Gibbs College of Architecture (GCA) invites applications for a ranked renewable term faculty position beginning in August 2025. The successful applicant will join a tight-knit group of faculty who share the mission to prepare students to be leaders in the construction industry by fostering a student-centered, collaborative learning environment that benefits local, state, national, and international communities through innovative teaching, research, and service in support of the GCA strategic plan. Applicants should have a demonstrated background in and be prepared to teach in multiple subject areas, such as Mechanical, Electrical, & Plumbing Systems, Surveying, Project Management, Planning & Scheduling, and/or Pre-construction.

The Division's significant endowment supports strong leadership, a cadre of passionate and impactful faculty, and a pattern of student success in regional, national, and international competitions. The GCA's history in helping develop the design+build movement continues today through the program's approach to entrepreneurship and hands-on collaborations. The CNS undergraduate program has been accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) since 1990. Go to http://cns.ou.edu for more information about the program.

The CNS Division strives to develop and strengthen industry relationships in a growing metropolitan construction market. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the future direction of the Division. The position offers the following notable opportunities:
