Job Summary:
The successful candidate in this role will provide ongoing research operations support to two diverse research projects. The first project uses creative arts therapy interventions to reduce burnout symptoms and increase resiliency among healthcare personnel. The second project is a randomized-clinical trial evaluating an adaptive coping skills intervention to reduce psychological distress among cardiorespiratory failure survivors.
This team member will work in a collaborative environment and assist in day-to-day activities of the Colorado Resiliency Arts Lab (CORAL) in collaboration with the CORAL Program Manager. Complete participant screening and enrollment, follow-up and timeline tracking goals are met within program guidelines. Maintain site set up for research activities and collaborate with art lab facilitator to ensure successful cohort completion. Monitor and track participant attendance, survey and data collection, and facilitate participant stipends. Participates in CORAL team meetings and serves as primary contact for participant questions, and timeline tracking.
Additionally, the person in this role will conduct screening and enrollment and follow-up activities, in collaboration with the principal investigator, for a randomized clinical trial evaluating the impact of mobile app-based intervention utilizing adaptive coping skills training to evaluate impacts on symptoms of psychological distress on hospitalized patients after they leave the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of clinical trials and research projects.
- Obtain study subject's medical history, current medications, reviews research protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria, and collaborates with principal investigator to confirm candidate's eligibility to participate in research studies.
- Participate in subject recruitment efforts. Educate potential subjects regarding study eligibility, participation and timelines through phone contacts and personal interviews within community and hospital environments.
- Perform informed consent process or ensures that the informed consent process has occurred, is properly documented, and that informed consent form documents are filed as required.
- Perform medical record review, data extraction and case report form completion in electronic data capture systems in a timely manner and assist with study data quality review and query resolution.
- Assist Team Leads, Supervisors and/or management with creation and implementation of processes and procedures and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in department and supervisory meetings, as well as attend PI/lab meetings for specific projects as needed.
- Assist with collection, processing, and storing of biological samples and data for research from studies.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Entry Level:
- Bachelor's degree in any field.
- A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Intermediate Level:
- Bachelor's degree in any field.
- A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- One (1) year clinical research or related experience.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in science or health related field.
- Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology.
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information.
